Ode to (living near) the sea

The sea is a wonderful provider; of life, of beauty, but most of all, of sustenance.  And living so close to where delicious things live... well, it makes them pretty darn cheap.  How does live lobster sound at $3.99/lb?  How about fresh tuna steaks for $8/lb?  It's certainly given Pup an excuse to go wild with his cooking (and me an excuse to eat like a king every day).

Here's a photo, and I assure you that it tasted every bit as good as it looks and then some:

I wonder how many suckers fell for this one?  Scolari's is now charging an idiot tax :3

This was the best convention ever for me!  I had SUCH a blast!

This was the debut for Frick and Frack (who were finished frantically in the room at the Doubletree mere minutes before we showed up downstairs)

Frick and Frack

If anyone else took any good pictures of us, let me know!

Thanks to everyone for all your support, and for such a fun time.

Extra special thanks to Zen and Loco for traveling all this way to surprise us!  You made our con :3

We got back from our trip last night :) What an awesome weekend trip :3

Now that we're back in the cold and snow, I just wanna go back and be warm for a while, though :P

New Place

Moving is always a total hassle, especially in this season. We moved last weekend into a new place.  The price was right - $775 for a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath with a yard, but man oh man was it in deplorable condition.  I think the quote from Pup was, "I wonder if I can use Drano to clean the walls."

Thanks to Cyx, Roo, and Tahoe, we got the house cleaned back into a livable condition and got all the stuff moved over.  It was quite an adventure towing a 5x8 trailer with the Golf :P

In other news, we took a trip down to Sacramento again last night to exchange Pup's defective Flight Yoke at Fry's (where the Christmas displays weren't too over the top, thankfully) and ate at the hibachi place down there.  MAN is that place yummy - and unlike the hibachi places in Reno it's A) Not horribly expensive like Ichiban, and B) Not a horrible dump with awful food that won't serve two people like Aloha.

Maybe at some point more of you people should come down to Sac with us, walk the mall, have some food, and enjoy some warmth and oxygen.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

Two nights ago we were watching TV and saw a commercial that the Trans-Siberian Orchestra was playing the next day.  I don't know how that slipped by me!  A few minutes and a tickets.com convenience charge later, we were all set to go.

If you EVER get the chance to see them live, DO IT!  The lights and pyrotechnics ALONE were worth the ticket price, not to mention the amazing music!  I was particularly impressed by the 10 piece articulated overhead light structure, and, of course, the choreographed 20 foot jets of  multicolored flame :3

In other news, we've started packing all the stuff up for our in town move.  No word yet from the owners of the place I want (flakey people *eyeroll*) but I might have another lead coming up.  If anyone here in town wants some free crap, we've got... like... a USB racing wheel and camp stuff, if you want it :)

Trip to the bay / Front page news!

Just got back last night from my trip to the SF Bay Area, where a multitude of people asked me why I never post to my LJ account.  Goooood question, and since I didn't have a good anser, I figured I might as well get it over with and journal away :)

Thanks to [info]crocodile, [info]nerfcoyote, [info]brokkentwolf, and [info]jonnywoof for hosting us!  It was great to meet all of you, and I look forward to seeing you all again in the not so distant future :D

In other news...

Every morning when I come in to work, the daily newspaper is on the front counter.  I saw this one last week, printed out on the front page, did a double take and doubled over laughing right there by the door.  I just had to do one slight modification though.
